‘Although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, you have revealed them to the childlike’ – Luke 10:21
“If there’s one thing that marks the presence of God, it’s humility rather than making a scene. When it comes to God and His action in the world, it is “the simple things” that marks His presence” – Pope Francis
In a world where power and fame are everything, Jesus invites us to a life of simplicity. He teaches us that only if we are simple and humble like a child without any prejudices in our mind, will we be able to experience Christ.
“Remain humble, remain simple. The more you are so, the more good you will do” – St. John Vianney
Do we lead simple lives? Or are we focused on fame, power, wealth and position?
Let us try to live by the words of St. Francis de Sales:
‘In everything, love simplicity’.
Let us pray:
“O Jesus, my Love, may my heart be consumed in loving Thee; make me humble and holy; give me childlike simplicity; transform me into thy holy love” – St. Paul of the Cross
Spend a day without texting or using your phone. Instead take time out to write a few handwritten notes/letters to the people who really matter in your life.
