The Regional Youth Conference for the Hindi language region was held in Assam, Tinsukia district, Margherita, DRRC from 28th-30th April 2017.
The Conference was inaugurated by Rev. Bishop Joseph Aind. The programme started off with an Adivasi traditional dance followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. The Holy Eucharist was then celebrated by His Lordship. After the mass, the formator of the CFCI – Singles & Youth spoke on the theme ‘Pavitrata Mein Khushi‘ and then declared the conference open. The CFCI Youth Intake Camp was held at Dasya Holistic Retreat Centre in Porvorim from the 28th to the 30th of April, 2017, the theme being ‘Bringing in a new generation‘ or ‘BANG’. This camp focused on helping the youth of today experience God’s love and mercy, thereby bringing in a new generation of youth who can be God’s light to all those in darkness. An event called ‘Sex In Your City‘, (SIYC) based on St. John Paul’s Theology of the Body (TOB), was held for the youth of the Pune diocese on 26th March, 2017 at Sacred Heart Parish, Pune. This event was organized by the CFCI Singles of Pune for the first time. The various sessions were delivered by experienced young speakers from CFCI Singles Mumbai. A number of creative tools like videos, PowerPoint slides, flex banners, dances, skits, songs, teaching aids, personal testimonies, etc., were incorporated. These helped make the sessions engaging and comprehensible, while retaining its depth. The event was made lively with action songs which were something new for most of the participants.
