The Covenant Day in Bangalore was held on – 20 September 2015 at Holy Ghost Church. It was the most awaited day, where we would all commit ourselves to serving the Lord, to learning more about Him and more importantly to growing closer to Him.
Upon arriving at the venue, we were warmly welcomed by the rest of the community members and were given a candle, a covenant card and a commitment card which had our names printed on them.
The evening began with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Paul CSSR, the Parish Priest of Holy Ghost church. During his homily, he expressed how pleased he was with the evangelistic work of the community He cautioned us that although at times it may be tough to carry on the mission of Jesus and we may often feel like giving up, we need to fix our eyes on Him so that we may be able to move forward and continue to do the will of the father. After the Eucharistic celebration, the new members lit their candles. Brother Jimmy (CFCI Bangalore Chapter Servant) led them in their Covenant along with the rest of the community who renewed their own, giving everyone a sense of fulfillment. We not only made a covenant to live as followers of Christ, but also to dedicate ourselves to the task of building strong families for the church of God. We pledged to be committed and active members of the CFCI family and to be witnesses of God’s love to one and all .
The evening ended with a short time of fellowship and games coordinated by Biron and Andrea. All of us returned home with the words of Dr. Robert Morehead still burning in our hearts
“I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still. I must go until Heaven returns, give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes.”
