The Lord will fight for you and you have only to keep still (Exodus 14:14)
We had been fighting a court case against my Dad’s relatives for the last 20 years. We requested them on several occasions to come to a settlement but it never happened. The situation seemed rather hopeless. We sent prayer requests to various retreat centres in the hope of some breakthrough but everything hit a blank wall
It was in the month of September 2015 that I attended a CLS (Christian Life Seminar) organized by CFCI-Singles Porvorim Chapter. During the course of the sessions, I was convicted by the Lord to start praying together as a family once again. As we began praying, we were able to surrender the situation into the hands of God. We realized that we needed to forgive them and as we spent time in prayer, we were able to do so and this brought great peace to us.
We were comforted by a verse from St. Paul’s letter to the Philippians where he writes,
“Do not worry about anything but in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”.(Phil 4:6).
As we spent time in prayer and allowed Jesus to take control of the situation, during the last week of October, our relatives themselves came to an understanding and the court case which had lasted for 20 years reached an amicable agreement. God blessed us with more than we could ask or imagine.
As Prophet Isaiah writes, “I will go before you and level the mountains. I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. (Isaiah 45:2-3)
