“The harvest is abundant but the labourers are few” (Luke 10:2a).
This call was given by Jesus to be his disciples 2000 years ago and He still gives it to all of us. Today the harvest is plenty, but why are there so few labourers?
Jesus is calling each and every one of us. But are we ready to leave our comfort zones? Are we ready to fish for men? Are we ready to rely on Him and His grace alone?
When we work for Jesus we are called to be focused on our goal- not be worried about the world or where to get the resources from. We are called to just trust in God’s providence.
Luke 10:16 says “We have been given authority… Let us go in His name, empowered by the Holy Spirit, even when we feel we are weak, or we lack the resources, let us not lose hope but remember that we have been given power to tread upon the serpents… And nothing will harm you (Luke 10: 19)
As instruments of God we are to bring healing- physical, emotional and spiritual, to His people. So as Jesus said-
“Go on your way”- let us march forward without fear. (Luke 10: 3a)
