Now that we are alive in Christ we should respond to him by surrendering our lives to him. We live our lives
“with joy” (Col 1:11d)
knowing that Christ has already purchased us at the cost of his precious blood. And though we are destined for heaven, we still live in an evil world that tries to bring us down. Thus we need to have
“all endurance and patience” (Col 1:11c)
which comes as long as we cling to God.
Through our sufferings and trials we are being prepared to live with God in heaven. We are to
“live in a manner worthy of the Lord, so as to be fully pleasing” (Col 1:10a)
and this comes in growing in the knowledge of God and engaging ourselves in every good act of service as Christians. As long as we are grateful, joyful and endure patiently and strive to live for Christ, God himself will strengthen us with his power and might.
Let us unceasingly pray for one another and ourselves that we may be filled with the knowledge of his will. For the knowledge of his will is the root of all right conduct.
