Work In Me

This poetry written by Elroy Marques won the First Prize in the National Youth Conference 2013 – i Believe – Rhyme Time Competition.

Work in Me, O My precious Lord
Come remind Me what I’ve done
Whatever fear that grips Me tight
By You, can be undone
You can forgive My every sin
Through what My Jesus did
No matter what the gravity
Please try and lift My lid.

Work in Me, O My precious Lord
Wash clean all My grime
It’s only me Who’s suffering
Recalling all My crimes
Believe that You have set Me free
From all the devil holds
I am Your child and not a slave
I Believe what I’ve been told.

Work in Me, O My precious Lord
Embrace Me and bring Me out
Give Me peace and give Me joy
And try to turn My situation around
Come, Lord Jesus, break this mold
Breathe Your warmth into this cold
Draw me from the shadows deep
Shine Your light upon this creep
