Advent Series: Struggling to Trust God?

“Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill shall be made low; the rugged land shall be made a plain, the rough country, a broad valley”

– Isaiah 40:4

Today, we enter into the second week of Advent. A week where the Church exhorts us on the aspect of Faith.

To say we have faith when things are going smoothly for us is very easy. But the real test of faith is to trust in God when nothing seems to be going right.

As humans, it is natural that we want to control life situations. But to surrender to God and to trust in Him requires that we let go and allow God to guide our life.

God may not always give us what we want. But He will always do what is best for us. If only we trust and have faith in Him.

“God is always faithful in His promises, but He often surprises us in the way He fulfills them.”

-Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

Write down your main worry which you are currently going through and keep the paper in your cupboard. At Christmas, see how God has worked in that area.
