– This acceptance of Mary was the first step in the fulfilment of God’s salvific plan. The simple village girl that she was, Mary, should have ideally said ‘no’ to what was expected of her. She being a virgin, how could she accept a baby in her womb? How would she convince people that it was by the Holy Spirit that she conceived? With the grace of God and the endeavour of the service team, the CFCI Kolkata chapter was able to organize a 2-day Marriage Enrichment Retreat (MER) program in Bengali. Amidst a lot of barriers, we were determined to have it and God was with us as we prepared and conducted the entire program. It was a blessing that we started it on a very auspicious day, Palm Sunday, the 14th April 2019, where we all attended mass at St. Patrick’s Church, DumDum and moved on to Proggaloy retreat centre, Barasat. The full-time pastoral workers met once again this year, at Navjyoti Niketan, Patna, for a weekend retreat from 7th-9th December 2018. It was an opportunity for the full-time pastoral workers from across the country to meet, interact and become one in mind, in order to take the work of Christ forward through CFCI. Coming from Assam, Bihar, Punjab, Goa, Jharkhand and West Bengal, there were a total of 32 full-time pastoral work participants and their spouses. Continue reading
The Couples for Christ, India, conducted the first module of the Christian Life Seminar at Auxilium Convent, Dum Dum, Kolkata, themed, “Welcome to the Unending Love” on May 5th, 2018.
The program was attended by 32 couples and 78 individuals, who came without their spouses. The children of the participants were looked after by Conrad and Pallavi Fernandes, who kept them entertained all through the day. Continue reading
