Frank Padilla

Founder of the Couples for Christ (CFC) community. Way back in 1981, CFC was started through the initiative of the Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon Community (LNP). In January 1981, LNP gathered 16 couples who went through a Life in the Spirit Seminar, with the intent of bringing them into LNP. But instead they were kept together for a few months after the program, until it was decided that a new group would be established to emphasize family life renewal. It would be an outreach of LNP. Frank and Gerry Padilla were among the 16 couples that became members in June of 1981 when CFC was born. Frank quickly emerged to be a top leader, and in 1985, he was already the Executive Director, running the day-to-day work of the whole community. In 1986 he went full-time for CFC and has been serving the community since, through two separate splits the community saw. Today he serves as the Servant General of CFC-FFL (Couples for Christ-Foundation for Family and Life). Know more about the founder at CFC-FFL

Empowered to Witness

To succeed in evangelism we must be bold in our faith. Then we become empowered to evangelize and witness Christ. Our theme for the year 2014 is taken from

2 Timothy 1:7-8. “For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.”

We must, therefore, courageously march forth responding to the calls of sainthood, martyrdom and spiritual warfare.
This is the Christian way of life. Continue reading

The Way Forward in Christ : Continued Progress

Now that we are alive in Christ we should respond to him by surrendering our lives to him. We live our lives

“with joy” (Col 1:11d)

knowing that Christ has already purchased us at the cost of his precious blood. And though we are destined for heaven, we still live in an evil world that tries to bring us down. Thus we need to have

“all endurance and patience” (Col 1:11c)

which comes as long as we cling to God. Continue reading

Call to Mission – Part Three

When Jesus began His mission, He trained the twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits and to cure illnesses. He also let them know that they had to fight the enemy in every step they took and that the real enemy was not poverty or injustice, but Satan. Continue reading
