On February 3rd 2019, CFCI Singles – Bangalore put together a teaching and activity program for all children in the community, in the age group of 3.5 to 12 years. The activities were surrounding the theme inspired by Matthew 11:28-30-
“Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.”
CFCI Mangalore organized its much-awaited Marriage Enrichment Retreat (MER) II from January 25th to 27th, 2019 at the Divine Call Centre, Mulki.
Post registrations and dinner, the MER kick-started with a power-pack Praise & Worship, with everyone glorifying God as they witnessed a full attendance of sixteen couples despite many obstacles. The service team couples were Gerard & Audrey along with Greg Puthota & Swapna Nuthalapati from Bangalore. The kids had a parallel program organized by the vibrant CFCI Singles & Youth of Mangalore. In his encyclical letter released on 25th May 2015, ‘On Care for Our Common Home‘ (Laudato Si’), Pope Francis addressed every person living on this planet, for an inclusive dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. In it, the Pope critiques consumerism and irresponsible development laments environmental degradation and global warming, and calls all people of the world to take ‘swift and unified global action’. “Advent” a word so familiar, yet a word we seem to misunderstand at times. Well, just so that you know, Advent is a time of waiting for the second coming of Christ while rejoicing at his first coming.
If you re-read this definition of Advent, don’t you think we tend to ignore a part of it? Don’t you think we get too faithful when it comes to the rejoicing part while we forget about the waiting? Or even if we do wait for Christ’s second coming, are we prepared enough for it? Continue reading
