Empowered to Witness

To succeed in evangelism we must be bold in our faith. Then we become empowered to evangelize and witness Christ. Our theme for the year 2014 is taken from

2 Timothy 1:7-8. “For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.”

We must, therefore, courageously march forth responding to the calls of sainthood, martyrdom and spiritual warfare.

The Way Forward in Christ : Continued Progress

Now that we are alive in Christ we should respond to him by surrendering our lives to him. We live our lives

“with joy” (Col 1:11d)

knowing that Christ has already purchased us at the cost of his precious blood. And though we are destined for heaven, we still live in an evil world that tries to bring us down. Thus we need to have

“all endurance and patience” (Col 1:11c)

When Jesus began His mission, He trained the twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits and to cure illnesses. He also let them know that they had to fight the enemy in every step they took and that the real enemy was not poverty or injustice, but Satan. Continue reading

During the time of Jesus’ public ministry He went around proclaiming the gospel, healing the sick etc. He touched their minds and bodies and taught them about the kingdom of God. God, out of His love and mercy sent His son who was moved with pity at the misery of His people. Continue reading
