Devil Knocking

I hear the devil knocking at my door
I see his face at the window
Sweet offering he brings before me
Telling me they are as harmless as green tea

With cunning eyes he stares into my soul
My body seems to be in his control
I know what is right and I know what is not
So I cry, Jesus wont you help me out?

With the same cunning words he tempted you
Won’t you let your light shine through me?
This world is but a dangerous place
For one who wants to live in your embrace

My legs are weak, my tongue is cold
Father, why don’t I dare use your sword?
Renew your spirit in me Lord
And I’ll be free from this deadly cord

For I choose to remain yours alone
Now and forever, I’ll be your own
Break me now through your cross
Convict me now before I am lost

Remind me again of the victory you have won,
That I need not fear the defeated one.
