In 2015, I went to my native to visit my family after 3 years. During my stay, I was a victim of a robbery.
I was going to the embassy for a visa application and on my way, a person came to me asking for help. The person spoke in English and asked me about a place I didn’t know and he was insisting on it. I had my bag with me and in it, I had my laptop, passport, yellow card, diploma certificate, other certificates and all the necessary documents required for the visa application.
I was interacting with the stranger, when suddenly another guy came to me, asking what was going on. Without my notice, they took me to a place where no one could see us and before I could realize, they took my bag and ran away. It took me a while to understand that I was robbed and what had just happened was theft.
I first, went to the church to give glory to God and asked Him to do everything, according to His will. I thought of ‘Job’ since his situation was worse than mine, but he did not lose faith in God. After finishing my prayer, I announced the sad news to my parents without fearing. They were broken and discouraged. But I kept the faith as I had asked the Lord, to take over and prayed for His will to be done.
One week later my aunt called me to stay with her. I stayed there for a week. My aunt was going through financial problems as the government owed her a huge sum of money which they did not pay, for the past 4 years. When I was with her, unexpectedly, she started receiving some amounts of money from the government. The first amount she received, she gave it to me so that I could apply for a new passport and get all the required documents. I applied for another visa to get it as soon as possible.
Coming out of this problem, has increased my faith in Christ who could strengthen me and help me bear this pain. I could no more doubt of His love for me. Now, in any situation, my mind is directed to Christ and that has really astonished my family members that my dad said, ‘Your God is truly with you’. I came to know that, without God I am nothing.
Every situation we are going through no matter how bad it is, we should always remember that there is someone who overcame the worst and is Greater than what we are going through.
“We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.”
~ Romans 8:28
