The Kid’s Village 2014 was held on 1 November 2014 at King’s School, Margao. The program started with a quick snack and a photo shoot, followed by action songs led by the band – First Aid. Kenneth D’Souza and Ingrid Noronha, CFCI Singles from Goa taught the kids a yell that echoed the theme of the day, ‘I’m a cool Catholic!‘.
The kids were then ushered to four consecutive workshops based on the themes of being a cool catholic at home, school, play and church. The workshops involved many activities, videos and fun-loving games. At the end of each workshop, the kids were awarded with a sticker.
The workshops were followed by mass, celebrated by Fr Valmiki who interacted with the kids and asked them several questions, which the kids answered with a lot of enthusiasm.
Elvis Coutinho, Goa District Servant interacted with the kids. Neshwin Almedia and Chelsea D’silva, CFCI Singles from Goa, explained to the children the importance of doing good deeds, challenging them to do a good deed every day.
The kids then enjoyed a finger painting activity which brought out the need to pray for the people closest to you. Following this, were two exciting events, the praise fest and the water games, after which the kids were on a high-note as they headed home.
