“The harvest is plenty, but the labourers are few.”- Luke 10:2
As Catholics, the laity especially are called “to participate” in proclaiming the gospel. There are so many souls thirsting for God and if they are not harvested at the right time, we may lose them to various cults, sects and fundamentalists.
When we are called to evangelise, we cannot afford to waste time by dilly-dallying or worrying about our day to day lives. Just trust in the power of God who is our provider.
“Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.” (Luke 10:3)
We are the Lord’s lambs; His flock and the wolves of this world are ready to attack us. So there is a spiritual warfare going on every day for which we need to be prepared. Some wolves have infiltrated the Catholic Church leading many Catholics astray by bringing about disunity and disobedience to authority and practicing unchristian acts.
How do we go about our call to New Evangelization? If we believe that God is our strength, our provider and He will stand by us even when we face a powerful enemy, then we should also be ready to move on even though no one goes with you.
Our God depends on you so we need to respond to His call.
