A carpenter’s son was He,
Faithful and obedient to his duty.
But little did the 12 year old know, What another carpenter had in store,
That while He walked the streets of Galilee,
Was a man preparing for His walk down Calvary.
I wonder if the carpenter knew, that the cross He prepared so brutally,
Was for His savior, down “Da via dolorosa” to carry.
It was nothing new for this cross maker,
To be called on as they punished a blasphemer.
“What have I done“! The carpenter exclaimed,
“He is innocent“, was his claim.
“The cross I made is for a sinner,
One like me for killing my Saviour“.
