Communion on my Tongue

Though I know the practice of receiving communion in the hand was adopted and approved by the Second Vatican Council, I personally prefer to receive communion on my tongue. The reasons are –

  1. “Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”

    Every time I utter this prayer before receiving communion, I feel a strong desire to claim God’s love and make myself worthy of His love.

  2. I personally felt that the priest who offered the sacrifice on the altar was worthy to touch the communion while I was not. So I preferred to take communion on my tongue directly from the priest’s holy hand

‘We walked in as men of faith and integrity, we walked out as men of valor

best describes the two-day retreat organized for Singles (men) at the pristine and silent St. Gaspar Retreat Center at Kithaganur Colony in Bangalore on the 9th of November 2019. Away from our homes and the chaos of the city we had come to experience a transformation like never before. The program began with the participants being led into praise and worship by the music ministry. The hall was soon filled with chants of “hallelujah” and we were able to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit amidst us. Continue reading
